(81,507 posts)about whether we can discuss possible investigations of questions that might require us to hold more hearings with empty chairs where the witnesses are supposed to be but how to do handwringing and then maybe we need another set of hearings to examine whether we can ask about what questions are allowed to be submitted and on which knee we should probably consider asking that we can be permitted to use to genuflect and... oh yeah, I forgot - well need a few more hearings that maybe well schedule a hearing to ask whether we can hold a hearing in a few weeks...

(81,507 posts)I think we should start complaining about how WE, the Democratic base, are being IGNORED. The one thing I envy about the other side is - MAN are they mindful of their base. Theyre practically on their knees to their base. Our Dems? They put us on Ignore. They turn a deaf ear and a blind eye to our wishes.
The Blue Dog Congressman I have now is too busy worrying about what his CON friends want, and running after unruly independents than to pay attention to the voters who worked our fingers to the bone for two straight years to flip the House so our Democrats could start getting OUR priorities done. And its INFURIATING!
When do they start bowing to the DEMOCRATIC base? When do they start realizing that they need to cater to US - so WE wont get fed up and start questioning what the hell we worked so hard for, and maybe staying home next Election Day? They need to stop taking us for granted.
If I get one more appeal in the mail for donations from Nancy Pelosi, Im going to send back an otherwise empty envelope with only a note that says NOT ANOTHER NICKEL UNLESS YOU IMPEACH!!!

*By concerned, I mean, pissed-off, re-reactivated, more aware than ever, and unwilling to submit to the pResident and gangs efforts to demoralize at least a nations worth of good-hearted people.

(24,330 posts)But what is he doing about the current situation with Trump? Okay, so he's speaking out. But so are all of us.
I'll admit I'm not doing as much as I did to stop the Vietnam war, but I'm not young anymore. I'm a little too old to throw tear gas canisters back at the police. One thing I am doing is keeping my grandchildren and other young people I come in contact with current on what the facts are and their context in recent history. It's amazing how oblivious many of them are to what's going on.
And half of them you have to almost have to physically drag to the polling place to get them to vote. The first time I voted was in '72 and I thought it was the greatest day of my life. I couldn't wait to vote. I still feel that way.
