Humor me on this conspiracy thought about the Whistleblower.

I've been concerned about the unanimous consent to release the complaint. Republicans haven't voted unanimously for basically anything Dems want. I feel like they have something up their sleeve.

What if the Whistleblower is actually a Republican/Trump ally who created a false whistleblower complaint to get Dems to declare impeachment, then the complaint is released proving that there was no real issue, and Dems have to defend starting an impeachment with incomplete info.

Do we know for sure this whistleblower is honest and not a Trump ally?

And take it to the DNI? It's about more than the whistleblower. If what you say happened, then it would be a conspiracy.

is, knows the allegations, is 100% confident there is evidence - and has guarantees that the person is willing to testify. No chance at all the she would go for impeachment if she had one iota of doubt.

Would have released the complaint and not have dragged their feet about following the law to hand it over to congress. They are too stupid to try and hide the complaint as a way to gin up interest in the complaint. They don't think that way.

They could have just handed the complaint over and still have had this same reaction from Dems without having broken the law.

Worrying that it's some sort of ruse by Trump, whose one talent is creating a big enough mess that it's difficult to investigate him. He's had decades of experience doing it.

Then there's the part of me that says Moscow Mitch is a big enough bastard that will gladly backstab Trump once it looks like the scales are tipping enough into, "Trump hurts republicans," territory. Especially if he can engineer something so he comes out relatively unscathed.

Difficult as it is, I'm going to trust that Nancy knows what she's doing (not a slight against Nancy. She's more than capable), and she and her team have the actual goods on Trump, and they've investigated this enough that the whistleblower is the real thing.

If anything, democrats are often too cautious because they consider the whole picture - Trump damaging the country, would impeachment hurt the country more, how will democrats be viewed, etc. - and make the hard choices. Republicans often jump at the chance of, "owning the libtards," and rush in blindly, not considering the consequences of their actions.

Sure, his businesses go bankrupt, and he's had to pay a fine or two, but more often than not, he's left others holding the bag because he at least knows a little about gaming the system to protect his ass. Financial system at least.
