I prefer to look at the great memories we had with this pet over the years, and not look at her impending departure in that light. She was a great watch dog and had a very loud bark for a 11 lb dog, loved to play, never got sick until this year she suddenly lost eye sight, hearing and won't even bark any more. I think she has diabetes because she is drinking too much water and is losing weight.
