Did you notice Maguire just said that the information was sent to the DOJ AND the FBI?

Was that a mistake on his part? He didn't correct the statement?

Is there already an FBI investigation underway?

While there is one international phone call currently in question, all real issues being discussed are domestic.

The FBI can conduct investigations that bring them outside of the US. They can bring charges to a grand jury with respect to foreign entities. They have a lot of power and their scope is wide.
