YouGov poll. 32% of Republicans support impeachment

Brian Klaas

@brianklaas
Wow. New YouGov poll on impeachment over Ukraine scandal shows support from 76% of Democrats and 51% of independents...but the number that should scare the hell out of Trump & the GOP is that it's also supported by 32% of Republicans. https://today.yougov.com/opi/surveys/results#/survey/72f3bf66-dee3-11e9-b4a9-9f0e9e31e4a3/question/9b91b2b7-dee3-11e9-ba0e-c7fcd6994022/politics

4. Any Republican who wants the GOP to have a chance

to keep the WH in 2020 will quickly come to the conclusion that the only way will be with a candidate other than Trump(or Pence). His Presidency is effectively over. We're just waiting on the out-plan.

5. GOPers are realizing this is their chance to get trump out of the way

before he takes the whole party down in 2020.

I think thereís a good chance heíll resign like Nixon, or at least drop out of 2020 election, when GOPers confront him with facts.

8. Wait 'til we've had weeks of hearings exhaustively listing Turd's crimes.

It'll be pitchforks and torches in every corner of the land.

9. How reliable is YouGov...?

Isnít that one of those call-in polls to which anyone can submit their response? If so, that means little more than those online polls that we and the Freepers have competed to skew for decades.

Personally, I have a very hard time believing 32% of Repugs want Trump impeached when other polls have shown consistently that 85% of them support him wholeheartedly.

10. Probably no worse than a Rasmussen....heh

Methodology
YouGov specialises in market research through online methods. The company's methodology involves obtaining responses from an invited group of Internet users, and then weighting these responses in line with demographic information. It draws these demographically-representative samples from a panel of 5 million people worldwide including over 800,000 people in the UK.[10] As YouGov's online methods use no field-force, its costs are lower than some face-to-face or telephone methods.
