Is that simple and clear enough for the American people to understand about the Mueller Report?
The current Ukraine scandal is on its face, easier to understand. Perhaps it is.
But I dont buy that what Mueller found, or the conclusions that any reasonable person could draw from Muellers findings, is too complicated to understand. Not if we laser-focus on what Mueller was tasked with investigating, and what the Trump administrations response (obstruction, including but not limited to destroying evidence, obfuscation, witness tampering, dangling pardons, intimidating witnesses, repeatedly lying to investigators and the public, trying to fire Mueller, trying to discredit Mueller, and on and on).
To paraphrase Mueller: If we were convinced that the President did NOT commit a crime, we would have said so!
To recall some headlines after the Mueller Report was made public, or much of it, at least: The Mueller Report is a roadmap for impeachment.
Between Mueller (and many others on the Trump-Russia investigations and media reports), the current Ukraine scandal, and a whole host of other things Trump has done and is doing on an ongoing basis:
We have obstruction of justice.
We have abuses of presidential power.
We have violations of the Emoluments Clause.
We have multiple instances of soliciting foreign interference in American elections.
We have multiple violations of human rights regarding immigration and refugee policies.
We almost certainly, if not certainly, have the willful compromises of national security in regard to foreign infiltration of the United States government via the President, members of his administration, and associates (yes, Im talking about Russia here....but whatever Boy Prince Jared Kushner is doing in the Middle East counts too).
And thats just off the top of my head. Tip of the iceberg, as it were. Theres much more where that came from. We the People likely dont know the half of it, the worst of it. But if we impeach the motherfucker, we just might learn about some more of this malfeasance, this criminal conspiracy of an administration, this treason.
So yes, lets impeach the motherfucker.

(15,639 posts)the Mueller report was certainly enough -- for you and me. But Barr got there first. The media hit the snooze button. And the American public said, "not interested!"
(AND .. reporting is indicating that a lot of them still feel .. pretty ambivalent, if not outright opposed. I think we'll gain ground there as this continues to unfold. But the idea that this is a slam dunk with the public, unlike the Mueller report .. that's simply not the case. At least not yet.)

Mueller's unwillingness to destroy these monsters at that hearing remains disappointing.

(20,813 posts)Our nation's citizenry have become so television oriented they need a host and narrator to tell them what they've just seen with their own eyes. Television News has become nothing more than entertainment for the masses. The dumbing down of Americans is shameful.

Perhaps Mueller was a bit too obtuse for the common media and consumers to understand. But I hope and believe that the representatives do understand what is contained in his findings.
I'm hoping that Robert Mueller someday let's us know how he decided to present his findings as he did. Most actions take several years of reflection to come to grips with the reality-at-the-moment.

(9,090 posts)manafort was campaign cochair and limbaugh wouldn't support mccain, a disaster, but the friday before the GOP convention he picked palin just before limbaugh's show started and limbo said he could then support mccain.
then 2009 'climategate' sold all week before the copenhagen climate conf to neutralize obama, started with a russian hack and wikileaks within 5 days before that.
and 2014 sam nunberg says he "listened to 1000s of hours of talk radio" for trump, the same year a russian troll said he "got a list of topics to write about"
hannity mentioned in the mueller report several times (innocuously) and should have been listed in the glossary - but the name between graff and hawker is redacted. is it because talk radio and it's gods like hannity were mentioned in the main redacted parts of the report? stone, manafort, corsi are long time talk radio operatives - stone going back to florida 2000. corsi has been a conduit for many major swiftboat ops - which relied on unchallenged radio repetition. they are not computer and internet pros.
dem reps need to be pushed to include talk radio in their invesstigations - BEFORE THE ELECTIONS! it's nuts. they all blame the symptom - fox - which on it's own could sell very little of this crap. they don't even poll for it.
i think dems will have to see the redacted version before they wake up to the fact the russians rely heavily on talk radio and probably even get calls into shows like limbaugh's
