Trump's saying his call was "perfect" and his portrayal of shock and hurt that anyone would think it isn't is surely Emmy bait. Watch for Republicans to join in. I'm worried McConnell's recommendation that the call memo be released fits that pattern. He could have called for the release not because it is the right thing to do but because he wants to send the message that what Trump did isn't all that wrong.
"What? There's something wrong with what Trump did? I guess I'm not seeing it."
Could Trump and his obedient Fox News and Republicans be that brazen? Duh. In addition to the usual Big Lie, Trump and his obedient Republican Party could be trying to give to a grateful world the "Big Gaslight."
Maybe in the end they are hoping for censure. "Little Donnie didn't know bank robbery was illegal. We were just as surprised as he was that you think it is. Ok, then, let's not convict him this time. We'll let him off with a warning in the name of unity. Ok? He won't do it again"

(12,046 posts)Just heard Graham spewing the talking points off a paper in front of him basically they come down to : "whistleblower only had hearsay and the transcript doesn't match unless Adam Schiff is reading it."
Of course the "transcript" which they released supports everything in the complaint, but they are counting on no-one to actually read it and the media just to let both sides talk about it as if its an opinion to be debated and not a document that we all have read.
