What nobody is saying about Welfare Work Requirements is the pay is less than minimum wage

A person only makes $4.17 an hour and are still treated like lazy bums If you're going to require them to work then you should be required to pay them at least minimum wage

5. If there were so many jobs available, we wouldn't need welfare.

Why take a job that someone needs to support themselves and hand it out as punishment? Roadside maintenance and park cleaning are union jobs in most states, and welfare work requirements are just another form of union busting.

The right gets Barstool Republicans wound up about it because they have a sadistic lust for humiliating people they look down upon. I know someone who had to do this for her food stamps. She has a job as a cook ($12,000) but needs the help to feed herself. They made her work in the state park in an orange vest for six hours one month last year.

Think about it, Republicans want to cut off those on govt assistance so they can see a return to the day when poor people begged to shine their shoes for a quarter. Middle class conservatives would have an actual chance to spit upon these people and tell them to "get a job".

7. If there's no real work to do, why make them work? Why not have them study, or read books?

This obsession with making everybody go to work is starting to strike me as ridiculous.

9. Don't be offended. I'm suggesting alternatives to "work" that would actually be more productive.
