http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/the-scandal-intensifies-team-trump-turns-jedi-mind-tricks?cid=eml_mra_20191014As Donald Trumps impeachment becomes even more likely, the president and his allies have been even more eager than usual to concoct an alternate reality they expect the public to take seriously. In this version of reality, adjacent to our own, the intelligence communitys whistleblower has been completely discredited.
Thats plainly false, of course, as the White House and its cohorts know, though the truth has been deemed secondary. Its why Trump is also throwing around all kinds of related nonsense about Joe Biden, Adam Schiff, and what the president sees as Russias purported innocence in its 2016 attack on our elections.
Trump and his team seem to realize a reality-based approach wouldnt work, and the result is an avalanche of claims that crumble under scrutiny.
Truth.

(82,849 posts)Even when they repeat it again today (and tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow after that), it's still going to be discredited. Obviously Rachel Maddow understands this (which is why she's saying it), but I wish the media could get this simple fact through their collective skull: Just because this administration says something doesn't make it right or true. When you know they're lying, you don't have to report what they say except to say it's a lie. See if you can spot the difference:
Today, President Trump again insisted that Joe Biden was instrumental in getting a Ukrainian prosecutor fired.
Today, in a medley of greatest lies*, President Trump again revisited the discredited allegation that Vice President Biden got a corrupt prosecutor fired in Ukraine.
*For a president who has a documented history of more than 13,000 lies (and counting) to date, this would be factually objective to call out Trump's lie-arrhea as a medley of greatest lies.
