If it keeps them in the majority. In the Senate, especially. Even without controlling the WH, they will have the Senate, and the Judiciary. As long as they can maintain a veto proof majority, they are golden. Breaking the law is the only way that they can stay in power, and their base "approves this message." They will skirt, and skate, and obfuscate. In the end, they are not really breaking the law...just doing what's best for the American People....Believe me, I see it all the time down here. The ends justify the means for the base. After all, "them damn libruls" been breaking the law for years...

Just an additional thought: Doesn't "Al-Qaeda" translate to English as "The Base"? Hmmm....

Two words: "those people". Down here, it's just "them people"...usually just "them". Racism down here has become much more subtle these past few years. "Them"now not only includes blacks...immigrants, and gays...it's anybody who defends or advocates for "them". A "librul" is right down there with a "n@**#r" down here....

Rand Paul is saying that conditions are placed on most foreign aid in order to motivate the receiving countries to promote U.S. or peaceful/humanitarian interests in exchange for the aid - including assurances that the aid money won't disappear in a black hole of corruption.

This is true, but that's not what's happening here.

What's happening here is that POTUS was threatening to withhold aid money unless Ukraine directed resources toward sullying the reputation of his political opponent.

Problem is, that sullying operation could also be described as an investigation into internal Ukranian corruption.

So, they're pushing hard on this alternate justification to distract from the actual reason. They'll be on Fox News relentlessly pounding the "pay-no-attention-to-that-man-behind-the-curtain" with respect to the quid pro quo.

They're killing America.
