I find it hard to believe given the ongoing news that Trump maintains a certain level of popularity or even more ludicrous the recent poll slowing him winning in a landslide in 2020. He lost the popular vote in 2016 and he has most assuredly lost ground since then.

(14,915 posts)I think those polls could be real. It's just a reflection of the fact that 1/3 of the country are irredeemably misinformed precisely because they wish to be so.
A portion of my extended family is like that. They just won't accept facts staring them in the face when those facts make them sad. They do the see-no-evil, hear-no-evil, but speak-*much*-evil act.

(12,618 posts)That was just a ridiculous projection by some economists using a model that only relied on economic indicators. It did not factor in approval ratings and only assumed a modest Democratic turnout.
In other words, it's total bullshit.
