Until recently, my opinion was that the best way to advance the progressive ideology is to have Trump to beat in 2020. I believed that our government was running in a sort of autopilot where he couldn't severely impact our national security. I was wrong. The recent developments in Syria have proven that. Trump is a dire danger to our countries safety. Whether it is the House, SDNY, or the State of New York, somebody has to find the proof of a connection between Trump and Putin and expose it. That is the only way we are going to get him out of office before the election.

-they did not want to expose sources and methods before the election, and did not think the asshole would win
-many of the Mueller types are conservatives who hated the Clintons, (and they didn't realize how bad things would be), so there was more motivation to help the GOP than anything else
