Quid pro quo is a sneaky straw man

Trump and his minions are the ones using the term "quid pro quo" constantly. They want to vociferously deny something that really doesn't matter to make it seem like it is the only thing that matters. They want to redefine the accusation to something more defensible so Republicans can more easily sweep it under the rug.

Even if there were no quid pro quo, merely asking for Biden to be investigated conclusively warrants Trump's impeachment and removal from office. The news seems to forget that a lot as they race to cover the quid pro quo aspect. That's just what Team Trump wants.

It's like a mobster admitting he asked for a hit on someone as a favor, but saying it's not a crime because he didn't talk about the fee. What matters is that he asked for the hit.
