That is merely a letter. Lawyers send stupid letters all day and every day.

While, yes, this is yet another meaningless and stupid letter sent by a lawyer, it is simply not true that "Trump is suing CNN".

.... laughed out of court. Just because you don't like the coverage you get you can't sue who ever
did the coverage. I think the 1st amendment covers that.

I know that in some jurisdictions a lawyer threatening a lawsuit who then doesn't sue runs afoul of the professional ethics requirements. Harder explicitly says that "my clients intend to file legal action against you." If CNN tells Harder to go suck an egg, Harder may be in trouble if he doesn't file the threatened legal action.
