Young People today have no past reference beyond the Gingrich Regression They know nothing about the love a lot of us were taught to have for our fellow humans The Compassion Bobby inspired in so many needs relit across this nation.. I feel we owe it to him to at least reach out and try to do that. Now I'm not ready to go out and hold a bed in with my next door tea bagger, but I am willing to ask myself why they are like that, and try to work from there to show kindness to them whether they show any to me or not. Do you remember when Bobby insisted on talking to his supporters the night Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated? That is another clip I should post.

RFK Day of Affirmation Day Speech excerpt

It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.

by lone assassins.

Today I also listened to a speech by a freedom walker, he is a congressman that had his head beat in during the march from Selma to Montgomery Alabama. He spoke of what voting means, of how many people were beaten and killed just trying to register to vote. He spoke of literacy tests where the question was, "how many jellybeans in this jar?" He spoke of how after 43 years the person that beat him came to his office to apologize. I drove with tears in my eyes.

We do share a common bond, across the races, across the creeds. It's time to get that back.

Peace
