There should be a DNC commercial from now thru the election showing a picture of Hillary, Kerry, and Gore simply showing in large print:
DON'T LET REPUBLICANS/RUSSIANS DO IT AGAIN....

(24,614 posts)No working FEC. A constipated Senate. A loaded SCOTUS. DOJ headed by a mafia meat-ball.
Hope the people that have real power (military, FBI) are untainted.

(10,943 posts)... nobody says the candidate isn't progressive enough, moderate enough, black enough, woman enough, gay enough, whatever enough... I intend to work like the candidate is a everything enough. Everyone needs to work that hard.

(2,729 posts)We will need every single one of us and as many non Dems as we can to take Trump down. There will be many more Magats out there frantically trying to keep the GOP in power. We need to do our best to try to dwarf his votes in every single district. This could be America's last chance for a better tommorow. We must not fail!

(29,260 posts)The reason billionaires hoard their money; to buy republicans and judges. Very scary.
A thousand times.

(8,231 posts)the smear campaign thrown at Hillary. And how effective it was.
I live in Australia but have 2 relatives in the US.
Both stated they couldn't vote for Hillary pre the last election.
Knowing Hillary's political past, I was surprised. No competition in my mind, an experienced politician versus a flim-flam snake oil salesman?
Then I looked more closely at what the US TV, print and social media were pushing. And I understood.
Don't let that happen again. The undermining will be more forceful and more sophisticated this time round.
"Going high when they go low" doesn't work. Undecided voters need a constant stream of reminders of all of Trump's failings as a politician and human being. There is plenty of ammunition. Do it NOW!

(14,772 posts)From Hitler's "big lie" theory, to the present day. They do it, unfortunately, because it works.
They repeat BENGHAZI over and over enough times, hold "serious" hearings, mulitple ones. Every day talk about the Clinton Foundation being corrupt. Suspicion of murder of Seth Rich (which helped to gain credibility because of the earlier Vince Foster murder accusation), and of course the dreaded second email server use, which was dismissed as leaking any national security info by intelligence, and Hillary admitted it was wrong and apologized for.
She was voted most admired woman in America for a few years in a row. I am amazed just how this new version of Hitler's Big Lie works so well even to this day. I also heard people say.."Well I can't vote for Hillary Clinton, so....."
No matter who the nominee, it will be non stop big lies. And the ones that stick will be repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over..............from the time a winner of our primary is obvious until the election.

(100,133 posts)Yesterday I turned on both MSNBC and CNN briefly at a time of day I don't usually -- and both stations had employees wittering on in terms like this, making it all about Hillary speaking out. Then I came to DU and found it here.
Expect to be attacked. George Takei is up for it. I'm sure Hillary is. Are we?

(8,231 posts)Stuff the 'she should NOT be doing that!' attitude from the media.
Somebody, tell them about her Constitutional right to voice her opinion!
She needs to speak out, so should the rest of us.

(90,993 posts)Id have hoped we learned enough, the hard way, from last time, to pay attention to her warnings. They come true. As recently as regarding the Turks and Kurds in Syria. She warned us several years ago how trump could fuck that up.
Id listen to whatever words of caution she offers. She tends to know what shes talking about, she doesnt make rash statements, and she doesnt lie or misconstrue - much less mislead, either deliberately or otherwise.
With that clear and well-documented track record, I take seriously what she says about Tulsi. I assume she knows something about it. I suspect she has a reason to speak out about Tulsi. Besides, I started hearing other Russia-related suspicions raised about Tulsi long before Hillary weighed in.

(75 posts)George is right. Especially in states that historically go democratic in presidential elections. Take nothing for granted. The voting rights act is gone, citizens United opens the gates and the FEC is non-functioning agency because the commission lacks a quorum and the repugs will not nominate replacements for their vacant seats.

(13,003 posts)Not only has he emasculated the FEC, Oconnell dropped the funding to the three Federal Government groups that were investigating election fraud activities.
There are hundreds of things like the above two that they have quietly and covertly pulled off these past three years while having Trump as a daily diversion to what they were doing in the shadows........I think the next ten years are going to reveal many of those things and the Dem and Repub voters will shake their collective heads wondering how all those things came to be......Duhhhhhhhh

(13,003 posts)PUTIN turns on his TV everyday and instead of watching the comedy channel he turns on a U.S. News Station and laughs until his stomach muscles hurt and then goes to bed.
He must sit there and think how simple it was to turn the U.S. upside down with a little money in the right places, and wishing he had done it sooner like maybe before Obama got in office..........Could you imagine having President Sarah Palin when McCain died before his term was up??????????
