In late 90s I checked a recently published book on black history in US, an encyclopedia I think. Zero mention.

When I talked to a black colleague here in Tulsa and said this had never been mentioned, she just looked at me and said 'Well, R-----, we in the black community have ALWAYS known about this!

which would have been 9th or 10th grade history. We didn't go really far in depth, but we did touch on it.

He was maybe 1st to publish fact that the local paper's call for whites to show up at the city jail where the 'suspect black guy' was being held-----disappeared from all archives!!! Ie 'from the record'!!

When Philly city government bombed Move apartments, either Time or Newsweek said it was the 2nd time a city government had bombed some of its residents. The 1st time was during the Tulsa Race Riot!

For a long time it was denied that any bombing occured. I guess evidence finally silenced the doubters.

Interesting, (and unfortunate) how a long-buried bit of history can become topical and relevant again after nearly a century.
