The famously Republican-friendly Rasmussen Poll is going the wrong way for Trump. They publish a daily tracking poll number which is a three-day moving average of the basic Approve/Disapprove poll question. Here are his numbers this week:
Monday - 45% Approve, 53% Disapprove
Tuesday - 45% Approve, 52% Disapprove
Wednesday - 44% Approve, 53% Disapprove
Thursday - 43% Approve, 54% Disapprove
Friday - 43% Approve, 56% Disapprove
It's small movement, but it's steady. Should be interesting to see what the news of the "criminal" investigation hatch by Barr (via Stephen Miller and Breitbart article commenters) will do for the ratings next week.
But he's slipping in his most friendly poll. There might be hope.

(21,811 posts)Trump cannot win re-election with such a low approval and high disapproval rating. Normally now is when Presidents start softening a little to try to court voters. Hes trending down, he drops below 38% in the composite and hes toast.

(21,811 posts)But the Senate will not convict unless the impeachment is more than just the Ukraine extortion case.
The key is to know that Trump never does anything if there's not something in it for him financially or politically. There is zero doubt in my mind that every single interaction he's had with any world leader was similar to the one he had with Zelensky. There are hundreds of cases of his extortion, document a couple more of the most egregious and the Senate just might throw him out of office. Start with Turkey, no way Trump surrendered to Erdogan and Putin without a payoff.
