Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIs there an actual LEGAL requirement for the president to inform Congress for ops like last night's?
I know the "Gang of 8" is normally informed. That did not happen last night.
Can Congress somehow seek a legal remedy (i.e.: sue the motherfucker)?

(156 posts)he's the CiC. It's his job to order these kinds of things. It's the only thing he's done right since his election.

(35,317 posts)It was just an operation, like any other. Every time they launch a raid against the Taliban or ISIS does Trump call Pelosi as soon as he knows?
Is he even told about most of the routine raids or do they just show up in some summary report by inclusion?
If he'd launched an attack on Iran, he'd be required to notify Congress within so many days. This is ongoing, and covered by an AUF.
