He was playing golf when the raid actually took place.

(9,426 posts)I was no fan of Dubya, but tRump awakens feelings in me like I have never felt before. I think part of it is that he is such a phony piece of CRAP, yet people treat him as though he is a legitimate president. He is not even close. The gop needs to be destroyed at the next election, kept out of power for decades, until the government is on the right track. They are complete failures at electing decent, intelligent, honest people especially as president. Maybe it is because their party attracts the dregs, not the cream of the crop.

(63,221 posts)Especially the part about the fact that he is such a phony piece of crap, but people treat him like he is legitimate. This joke is getting very old and it was never funny.

(1,103 posts)what we've been doing----cleaning up after the Republicans time after time and then handing control right back just so they repeat with another mess. . The Democrats should keep control for a few generations in a row before ceding power so people can get a good look at how to govern properly, for the people. That is, if we have Democrats with guts to do the job of leading us back to the true ideals of the Democratic party.. That is one hig reason I choose Bernie Sanders to be our next president. Trust, heart, perseverance, courage and leadership. He's got it all.

Trump's problem is not that he's an old white guy. His problem is that he's an ignorant, narcissistic buffoon with a psychopath's lack of empathy.

According to this website which tracks Trump's golf outings. He left the club at 3:33pm. He was golfing at the time of the raid.

Pool loaded into vans and drove short distance to Trump National Golf Club entrance, where we joined rest of motorcade for trip back to White House.
Motorcade was rolling at 3:33 p.m. Pooler did not spot any supporters or protesters at the clubs entrance.

(81,281 posts)Souza has built up a professional reputation and credibility over many years. I dont know him but I would imagine if his kind of work puts him in the company of the POTUS, he has to be trustworthy. I doubt hed put his good name on the line to make something up to flatter trump.
JHB
(37,160 posts)I was pointing out that people saying "he was playing golf during the raid" had misinterpreted what Sousa said. They made it sound like he started his golfing at 3:30 instead of ending then. Depending on how long the raid lasted, he could have gotten back to the WH while it was still in progress.
Look at #54 below. Sousa himself states that directly.
Trump was definitely so disinterested and disengaged that he went off on his favorite play-date rather than stick around for the prep and execution of what he now claims to be such a stupendous event. Couldn't even be bothered to show up on time. Who's making anything up to flatter that waddling national disaster?

I wonder if Souza got Syrian time vs. DC time mixed up. 3:30 pm in DC would mean 9:20 pm in Syria. However, 9:30 pm in DC would mean 3:30 am in Syria (which, honestly, seems more realistic if one is going to make this kind of raid).

(115,706 posts)even when it isn't. He's sitting there like a big fat toad in front of the presidential seal, and I have no doubt that's the way he wanted to be photographed - unlike Obama during the OBL raid, sitting inconspicuously in a corner, just one of the observers in the room. He didn't insist on being the center of attention. But because Trump does, even real things seem to be staged.

(22,670 posts)is that right-wing media only works on certain kinds of people: narcissists, low IQ, the greedy, the authoritarian and the like.
Liberals, by definition, do not accept propaganda, our minds work out the inconsistencies and anything that is not plausible. So having our version of Fox Entertainment blasted at us 24/7 has no effect other than to turn us off.
Our failing is in the belief that everyone processes information deductively, seeing the complexity of issues. Cult45s only see in binary, this or that, right or wrong.

The covert operation started around 5 p.m. on Saturday evening as eight helicopters carrying teams of elite US troops, including Delta Force operators, flew exactly one hour and ten minutes over "very, very dangerous territory" towards the compound, according to Trump. Numerous other US aircraft and ships were also involved in the mission"
I think I'm gonna have to go with the CNN timeline.
Looks like Souza just got the start time wrong.
