Al-Baghdadi’s Death Came Despite Trump’s Actions, Military Officials Say

Mr. Trump’s abrupt decision to pull forces from northern Syria disrupted meticulous planning for the raid on the ISIS leader and forced the Pentagon to press ahead with a risky night operation.

I could not imagine him having the discipline to command a sensible operation. That stupid “something just happened!” tweet is far more his style.

Tough situation they’re in. Not too different from intelligence. But there is much they can do and stay within their oath.

If they openly confront him then they essentially destroy the American concept that the military always obey civilian leadership. But if the day nothing, they become complicit with the destruction of our republic.

I think that we are going to see a lot more "leaks" or "the real story" background from the military, CIA, NSA. Their oath to the country literally require that they find a way to do something.

I wondered about that last minute, "but we're gonna leave a few troops behind to guard the oil" thing. Now we know it was likely how the brass got around Trump's idiotic withdrawal in order to save the mission.

If it comes out that military brass at the Pentagon were so unsure of Trump that they set up a conference call with President Obama for advice.

Mr. al-Baghdadi’s death, they said, occurred largely in spite of Mr. Trump’s actions.

Anus Orange forced the Kurds into retreat, so they can't spare any more effort to help the US. Big rush to take advantage of whatever intell assets were still there, before the chance evaporated. And a lot of extra risk for US troops.

Thanks, Obama !
