The pointy haired boss is a strawman for non-trump policy towards china. Dilbert is advocating for a tougher ("trumpian" ) negotiating position. You're supposed to read this and think, "huh, I guess trump's hardline tariff approach is necessary to get china to make meaningful change, even if the tariffs kinda suck right now"

Kinda curious why anybody thinks this is an anti-trump message.
