...about the military adventure last night?
Do they have a responsibility to speak up if that is the case ??
That would mean that Donald Trump committed our troops to a military operation without notification to the Speaker of the House or his own Majority Leader. That would be an abuse of power over the line.
The people have a right to know.

(4,007 posts)...even known terrorists in a foreign country requires notification by the C-in-C to the relevant parties. Just as I type this Sunday night, now it appears not even Mitch the Turtle nor Kevin McCarty, minority House head, were informed of the attack. They have refused to say yeah/nay to whether they were told....meaning they weren't!
Just add this major law violation to the Articles of Impeachment. It had better be a l-o-n-g piece of paper btw as much more is coming!

(4,341 posts)Yes, what if this is fake news by the creature? Which would be horrible if those generals participated in a photo scam.
I don't know that a c-in-c can order generals to lie.

(25,980 posts)the very last minute, it's very interesting.
Congress does need to do something about letting their power to "provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States" slip away. edit nvm - see above.

(25,980 posts)It was a definite and intentional abuse of power. It looks like petty payback for the closed questioning currently taking place in the House. There's no place for that in such serious matters.

If this is bare knuckle politics then the Repubs need to be reminded that what's good enough for the goose is good enough for the gander.

If they were not notified, you might think they might be a little pissed about it?

(1,977 posts)If we deaw attention to this it stays in the news cycle. We need to move off of this and get back on the impeachment train. Arguing this i the media is just going to give them the ability to frame us as not caring about our national security.
