So al-Baghdadi died? Really?

Sorry if this has already been brought up, but given the last few months and the news since yesterday, do we really know for a fact that it was he who died in the explosion?

All it takes is watching a few action movies or a few episodes of NCIS or a similar show to ask a few questions:

The guy was known to be slippery. Could someone else have disguised himself to lead the troops away from the real al-Baghdadi?

He was blown up. How do we know it was him? Are they going to do DNA tests, and will we know the results?

A top aide of the guy gave away some information on his whereabouts. Was he truthful, or was he part of a plan?

The timing, and T's comm with Moscow ahead of letting Congress know, seems suspicious given the impeachment activities.

And so on, but you get the idea.

And when the source is now Trump... well, I think external verification is is order.

Then again, the ultimate truth of this claim is not meaningful in the big picture, IMO, despite how desperately Trumpists will cling to it.

16. Both can happen, plus we probably got the head which often survives suicide blasts.

Surviving meaning the head intact, not it's previous owner.

I would like to know what sort of "onsite" DNA test they used. I am a biomedical scientist and this seems a bit fishy to me but, heck, maybe there is such a test. If anyone here finds what test was used, please post here!

7. My response to him being killed is who?

I follow the news quite intently but have not heard about this man recently. I'm sure I missed many articles about him but my point is that many Americans have no idea who this guy is.

These Americans hear this man has been killed and most will forget in a short time that this happened or mattered. Only partisan politics will keep this in the news and it will be mentioned as a win for Trump but it won't matter one bit to our security.

11. Didn't they do Bin Laden's DNA test aboard a ship?

It seems impossible to complete tests that quickly and without contamination from other people who's DNA would have been dispersed in an explosion.

12. If they have DNA tests that can be done that fast

Why does it take so long for even cops to get results back? And if the tunnel collapsed on him how did they get him out so quick? Lots of questions to this story.

The problem with crime scene DNA is backlogged cases. Cold cases tend to sit the longest while urgent gets done more quickly.

I had my DNA done and it sat for a few weeks, but it only took two days to be extracted and analyzed.

You can actually precipitate your own DNA at home using saliva, alcohol, soap and food dye. It takes about 1/2 hour. In this case, they had blood which contains more DNA than saliva.
