This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Omaha Steve (a host of the General Discussion forum).
This has been a headline on their page for the last couple of days. The headline is written in a way to imply it's something "bad" and unusual versus something that has happened to many Democratic presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the past. And it's not about Joe Biden as a person, it's due to his support for abortion rights. Of course, that is left out of the headline as well. Towards the end of the article is this sentence:
"Catholic Democratic presidential and vice-presidential candidates have been denied communion over their support for abortion rights several times in recent decades -- at times exposing deep cultural rifts between conservative and moderate Catholics in the church's hierarchy."
This thing has been up for two days now, it's not breaking news and I couldn't care less.

(2,539 posts)One of the reasons we couldnt count on Pennsylvania going blue for a long time was the politicians and union guys would not leave the alter for Sunday activities only. As I remember the trick is to do confession just before you do communion. Correct me, please, we must be diverse and all.
