Arisen from his grave in South Cakalaka at the toll of the Halloween Midnight bell, we now present the rotting and desiccated corpse of the Late H. Lee Atwater"Good Eeeevenging, to those you who are still in the land of the living. Welcome to this celebration of Right Wing Eeeevil. Let's get this over with, so I can go back to rotting in my grave, shall we?
"With a grand total of 49 of your votes, from my cold, dead hands, this year's the Late H. Lee Atwater Award for Right Wing Evil goes to my fellow undead, The Entire Republican "Trump's Cult" Party. MAGAts with maggots, as it were. How fitting.
"It is also my esteemed pleasure to give the Sixth Annual Richard Bruce "Dick" Cheney Lifetime Achievement Award for Right Wing Evil, to one Addison Mitchell "Moscow Yertle" McConnell," for his life long dedication to self-serving partisan treason.

#MoscowMitchMcTreason Trending Makes Moscow Mitch McConnell Sad
JULY 30, 2019 BY MICHAEL STONE
The turtle is a traitor: The deplorable Moscow Mitch McConnell is angry after being called out for being a Russian sympathizer so afraid of Trump he blocked legislation to secure national elections.
More on the story from The Hill:
The hashtag #MoscowMitchMcTreason began trending on Twitter Tuesday morning after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) fired back against the nickname Moscow Mitch in a fiery speech from the Senate floor.
MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, a former GOP lawmaker, dubbed McConnell Moscow Mitch after McConnell on Friday blocked two election security measures.
The hashtag #MoscowMitch quickly began trending on Twitter following Scarboroughs comments.
McConnell responded on Monday, decrying the attacks against him as modern-day McCarthyism.
After being rightly ridiculed in the media for his treason and slavish devotion to the Rapist in Chief, Senate Majority Leader Moscow Mitch McConnell stepped on the Senate floor to try to salvage his ruined reputation. An angry McConnell declared:
It started with the angry lies on MSNBC. The host lied and said that Ive dismissed Russias interference in our 2016 election as, quote, a hoax. Of course Ive never said any such thing. A few hours later came the Washington Post column. It was authored by Dana Milbank, a pundit who spent much of the Obama Administration carrying water for its failed foreign policies and excusing President Obamas weakness on Russia.
McConnell whined:
I was called unpatriotic, un-American and essentially treasonous by a couple of left-wing pundits on the basis of bold-faced lies. I was accused of aiding and abetting the very man Ive singled out as an adversary and opposed for nearly 20 years, Vladimir Putin.
The Washington Post column that made Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell so angry was written by Dana Milbank, and published over the weekend. In the column Milbank correctly describes the Senates top Republican member as a Russian asset, noting:
This doesnt mean hes a spy, but neither is it a flip accusation. Russia attacked our country in 2016. It is attacking us today. Its attacks will intensify in 2020. Yet each time we try to raise our defenses to repel the attack, McConnell, the Senate majority leader, blocks us from defending ourselves.
In the column Milbank called McConnells tactics unpatriotic, adding that the Kentucky Republican is doing Russian President Vladimir Putins bidding.
As for Twitter, the hashtag #MoscowMitchMcTreason continues trending, as well as #MoscowMitch, #MoscowMitchTreason, and #MoscowMitchUnAmericanTraitor.
The following is a sample of the reactions via Twitter:

(33,309 posts)1. Joe did not dub him "Moscow Mitch"
He may have been the first talking head on tv to do so, but the moniker appeared on DU before Joe said it.

The GOP win-at-all-cost trickery of today was popularized, when not invented by, Lee Atwater. He changed the way our country works. Lee was the Man who proved that a reactionary white man political strategy could win, not just in the South, but around the country. And the GOP follow his lead to this day.
I'd really like to see an authoritative biography, explaining not just his personal formation, but also the roots of his strategies.
Haven't been able to find one. Can anyone here help me out?
