I posted a thread about my republican bother is here visiting my mother!
Update! Now I am desperate need of some relief! He has now crossed the line! I have held my tongue tightly! We had a argument this morning. Nothing major, but it is like I committed a major crime! He won't talk to me, unless he has to! And he is talking about the separating of the immigrants at the border! My mother said it was unethical to split up children from their families. He came back with? It is illegal for them to cross the border in the 1st place and they are taking our jobs!
Now, he is upset with my mother! He is living today instead of tomorrow! I am thinking "good riddance"! My desperate thoughts do come true!

If you think that Mexico is only sending drug dealers and rapists,
but also worry that Mexicans are going to take your job...
What the fuck do you do for a living?

(58,785 posts)If anything you could do would bring him back to reality, reconnect him with intellect and morality instead of just breaking your family, that'd be different. Then you would have a moral purpose to help him by speaking. But you don't. Other moral issues are at stake instead.

(19,876 posts)if he would kill for them....then, when he says "of course" point out that if he'd do that, he'd certainly cross a border in an attempt to give them a better life.
Shut my right wing brother right up.

(16,410 posts)Does this sound familiar? His arrogance gets in the way! I can't get into the rest of his issues.

(19,876 posts)well, glad for your sake he's leaving.
My brother loves his kids, but is a serial adulterer...twice he's left a wife for her best friend. The first wife, he left for a stripper (who became wife #2).
And people wonder why I only speak to him when absolutely necessary.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
