if he's trying to shield the property from forfeiture due to NY legal actions.

Neither residency requirement is going to be easy for Trump to establish.

Philip Reines has proposed an alternate theory to his relocation: that Trump has been told that he can't dump Pence and put someone (say Ivanka) on the ticket if both are NY residents (constitution specifically forbids both President and VP being from same state). I really think the financial argument is most likely, but this did give me pause. If he knows his progressive dementia signs will render him unlikely to make it to or through a second term, this might be his way of promoting his "little Princess" ( ). Florida has no state taxes so nothing is ever filed. Less paper trail there... Plus.. It is closer to the Bahamas. Adam Clayton Powell knew the advantages of that.

is in NYC, so if (after he is no longer The Criminal in Chief) that is where his income is earned - he not only has to pay NYS income tax but NYC income tax. He could live in Timbuktu and it still wouldn't matter. Plus, he still owns his apartment in the city so has to pay property taxes on it.

NYS already has years of his taxes so moving to Florida doesn’t help him with their tax fraud case(s) either.

And he will be impeached. Even if the Senate doesn't convict, IMO an impeached president will not be re-elected. His brand is mud in the US. Many buildings are taking his name off their facade.

He's going down.
