To Florida. I suppose the idiot thinks that will help him escape the legal jeopardy he's facing there.

UPDATE: Pundits on MSNBC and CNN are saying it's because New York hates him! Bye, Felicia.

How will he do that? He can't use summer or early fall months because Mar a Lago isn't open then. It's usually open from Halloween to mid May.

6. The Club isn't open, but before it was a club, it was a private residence.

The club facilities are separate from the residence - or could be. He likely wouldn't be able to continue that business anyway if he is in the process of personal bankruptcy, which is pretty likely considering he's willing to give up his NY residency and both he and Melania filed the paperwork to change their status.

They announced last week he was selling his DC hotel - the only profitable such hotel he has, and folks have suggested (I believe one was David Cay Johnston who has been covering his financial moves for several decades) that he might be in need of immediate cash, besides which, in filing a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, he wouldn't be able to keep that property. It makes sense going forward for him to maintain the Mar A' Lago estate, as it's clearly a favorite and because of the security issues involved in living in NY (not to mention it's a decent place to begin going "on the lam", as Cuba is just 90 miles away by boat.
