By Sky Palma
In an appearance on Tony Perkins Washington Watch program this Tuesday, former Minnesota congresswoman and chairwoman of the Family Research Council, Michele Bachmann, discussed the Democrats fake, phony impeachment inquiry currently targeting President Trump.
This is such a pathetic joke, Bachmann said. They have no candidate on the Democrat side for 2020 that they can get excited about.
They have no message, they have no record of accomplishment, theyre doing nothing in Congress, so this [impeachment] is the only thing they have to run on.
Our President of the United States he is like nobody else I have ever met in my life, she continued. And he doesnt scare easy and hes gonna stare these guys down. They have no idea who theyre dealing with.
According to Bachmann, Trumps potential impeachment has almost biblical implications.
Wrapping up the segment, the two discussed the recent military operation that killed ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and how it was strategically more significant than former President Obamas accomplishment of taking out Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden a feat that President Clinton failed to do.
[Trump] understands the difference between good and evil, Bachmann declared. We have not seen a president with greater moral clarity than this president.

(50,530 posts)...is how all these self-proclaimed Christians are so madly in love with the most evil president in history.
A HERETIC I AM
(24,362 posts)and why they are willing to overlook his glaring criminality...at least the way I see it;
He is helping to stack the federal courts with fundy fuckheads who will be there for decades and as a result, give them the best shot they have had in 40 years of overturning Roe, not to mention do damage to environmental laws, reduce workers rights, etc. Conservative political ideology is a minority opinion in this country and they KNOW it, so the only way they can get their way (read: Force THEIR version of what's good for us down our throats) is to cheat in the electoral process, and stack the courts.
That coupled with the idea that he will bring about Armageddon, because they are so terribly desperate to see Jeesus again, even though he has clearly bloody well given up on this planet and has moved on to another, more deserving species. That or the whole thing is Iron Age myth.
You pick.
So they have finally got their man - a willing nitwit who will sign anything McConnell wants signed and to hell with the planet and any sense of decency.

(50,530 posts)Some fundamentalists see it as their duty to adopt foreign born babies. Russia used to be a major source of supply, but that got cut off by the Russians. Trumps border shit has replaced stolen Russian babies with stolen South American ones.
A HERETIC I AM
(24,362 posts)But the primary reason I responded to your post is to suggest what I see as the front and center reasons they love him so much.
I think there is a significant part of the electorate who will stick with him for no other reason than the rational among us know he is such a fucking nimrod, and wholly unqualified to be the president. It's political loyalty via "fuck you".
"You hate the guy vehemently, and since I hate you the same way (for no real reasons most Trumpy fans can actually intelligently state) there must be something good about him, so I'm gonna stay!"
OR.....
"He is my man because he pisses off the "Libtards".
It strikes me as the most irrational reason for political devotion I have ever seen, and I've been politically aware for 50 years.

(1,977 posts)These people dont actually believe this crap. They just say shit like this to grab the attention of the poorly educated and grift off of them. They will flood her stupid mega church and willingly give them money. Thats all they care about. She knows full well there isnt a moral fiber in Trumps body but it doesnt make her any money to say so.

To consistently choose evil over good requires a high degree of moral clarity.

Bachmann attaches herself in a pretty creepy way to authoritarian leaders. Remember when she tried to slip the tongue to W?
I have no doubt that she'd happily beg Fat Nixon to grab her, at a minimum.

(16,835 posts)WTF does that even mean? What is a biblical implication? These people have their own fucking language, I swear. If you listen to Trump talk, if you can stomach it, you'll notice that he really doesn't make any sense. It's all just a string of run-on partial sentences. But the crazies seem to understand all of it and think he's talking directly to them. Unbelievable.

(9,317 posts)The only morals that count is nominating judges that will ban abortion. Stealing everything in sight, spreading hate and unprecedented corruption does not go against republican morals so you see Bachman is right.

(9,109 posts)The Evangelical Christians will be bearing the consequences of their political love affair with Donald Trump and other right-Wing Republicans for years. Their political pronouncements will be linked to the scamming, the lying, the cruelty, and the amorality oozing out of the White House for decades to come.
The only Evangelicals likely to survive the Evangelicals self-abasement with their reputations unbattered are the Evangelicals of Color, because those guys, at least, seem to be following instead of mouthing the teachings of the Nazarene.

(5,334 posts)It's all about RULES, and how you feel about them.
Democrats: We need rules to make out society function equitably for all. Each citizen should be aware of the rules. From the rules flow both benefits and responsibility. Breaking the rules is unacceptable.
Republicans: Rules? We don't need no stinkin' rules! They get in the way of me wanting to do the things I need to do, to get ahead of the pack. Stuff them, I'm in it for myself! And I'm going to vote for someone who feels the same, and acts it out.
So ask yourself this question: When you see a road speed limit sign, do you:
a. Not worry about it, just stick to it? Get annoyed at those who need to zoom past?
b. Get cross, because you are told what to do and you don't like it? Get annoyed at those who actually stick to it?
If a: you are a democrat at heart.
If b: you are a republican.
It's that simple.
But yeah,Michele is a nut job. Yes dear, the sky really IS green, and the grass really IS blue. Now, it's time to take your medication!
