don't brake check a Hummer while driving a lil Honda

A Hummer takes revenge on a Honda for brake-checking
November 1, 2019
When a Honda brake-checked a Hummer on a highway near Waterbury, Connecticut, the driver of the wronged vehicle didn’t take it in stride. Watch as the Humvee hits the smaller car’s bumper several times, sending the two screeching onto the shoulder.

this gives the Hummer good evidence that the Honda caused the accident!

Hummer in left lane wasn’t passing semi fast enough. Honda idiot blows by in right lane and swerves over to “teach Hummer a lesson”

The Hummer didn't even have time to react.

I'll bet if the driver of the Hummer took it to court with the video showing what the driver of the Honda did, the ticket would be dismissed, as it should be.

But yeah it's kind of a silly law. Especially in extenuating circumstances such as this.

The Hummer driver had clear distance until the idiot in the Honda swerved in front on the truck and slammed on their brakes in front of them.

... only establish a general presumption of fault. It is rebuttable by evidence of the other driver brake checking. I think the Hummer is in good shape here legally.

Except - the trucker apparently didn’t stop and provide the video to LEOs or the Hummer driver. . It would have been nice if he/she had. Otherwise it’s Honda said - Hummer said.

it is clear that the Hummer stops braking and hits the Honda again two or three times, all of which were intentional.

Both drivers were road raging and this video was just the end of it, I guess.

on the Interstate highways, I just use the technique of adjusting the cruise control speed downward 1 mph at a time until they get the message to go around me.

if someone is riding our tail end, instead of speeding up, we gradually slow down until the tail gaiter goes around us.

That idiot in the Honda is lucky they didn't cause a bigger accident.

the more you slow down, the closer they get - usually some dick in a pickup or SUV bearing down on my VW Golf even if I'm going at or over the speed limit. There is a main drag in my burg which is a sight to behold sometimes - the inside lane often looks like something out of NASCAR.

I do hate tailgaters....

The Honda either hit the brakes because he needed to get back down to the speed limit (unlikely) or he had started to hydroplane and panicked (more likely).

Either way, that Honda is an idiot.

Why would you cut from the grammie lane to the hammer lane to slam on the brakes?

Sounds like a lawsuit vampire.

This even might include someone who is tailgating a car.

The brake checker is the at fault driver--especially if caught on video.

I am a fast driver and drive a pretty big truck. I can’t imagine braking that hard with nothing in front of me. But I don’t allow other drivers to piss me off. No matter what.

There was definable something going on we did not see. Perhaps the hummer driver was a dick. But this is all on the car driver. He swerved from the slow lane across a lane of traffic and the locked it up in the fast lane for no reason except pissing off the hummer driver. Hard enough to make his tires smoke. No excuse.

Hope he has deep pockets.

Boston is bad but New York is the worst. The civic driver is lucky he did not cause a chain reaction accident at that speed. What an asshat!
