In one tweet, Mimi Rocah simply states the "smoking Trump gun" AND smacks down Brit Hume.

It wasn’t a “failed crime.” He got caught after he’d already done the act & abused his power. And anyway - you’re basically admitting the crime but asking for leniency because it wasn’t so bad which is remarkable.

From WSJ: “Democrats want to impeach Mr. Trump for asking a foreign government to investigate his political rival for corruption, though the probe never happened, and for withholding aid to Ukraine that in the end wasn’t withheld.”

as determined by the congress, there is ONLY one prescribed penalty. IMPEACHMENT. It is not the ultimate penalty or any other degree of penalty. It is what it is.

The argument is now that he didn't receive anything, so no crime.

That ain't gonna fly.

More details to keep perspective:

1) Trump wasn't some rich guy asking some rich person for a favor, but he was asking to have a STATE use its legal authorities.

2) Biden was a *private citizen* - not some other country or state actor.

3) There was no domestic investigation going on for Ukraine to "help" with court orders etc. They wanted Ukraine to MAKE STUFF UP.

The measure of "high crimes and misdemeanors" is not based on criminal statutes and trial procedures (though these can be included in the process if appropriate and applicable). Much of it can weigh on nebulous basis of abuse of power and breach of trust.

If I attempted to rob a bank, was seen on video in the commission of such attempt, but ultimately failed. Then was caught and charged by the police, I should get leniency? You know since it was a "failed crime", I shouldn't have the serve the ultimate penalty. 🤔🤨😂

Just to correct the asshole.

Impeachment is no more than a bank robber being put on trial for an alleged bank robbery.

Either from Ukraine or China. It would be the wrong time to release it.

I especially don't trust China. They want the south China sea and taiwan; Trump can walk away and let them take them.

That would be worth some trumped up charges and an indictment of Biden's son. What would happen to a candidate if Trump fast tracked extradiction of his son to a hostile foreign country?

1. red don got a lot of mileage out of news coverage linking Biden's name to "scandal," which will linger in the minds of some 'Muricans.

2. Zelensky has danced around, avoiding saying the obvious--that red don was applying thumbscrews. So, red don's threat is having some effect.

3. Wasn't the aid released only a couple days after the whistleblower went public, i.e. red don had no choice at that point?

4. Ukraine already knuckled under to red don a while back, by stopping cooperation with Mueller into Manafort's work there. Plus, they seem to have "lost" the black ledger listing payments to Manafort among other pro-Russia actions.

And that's not even getting into what might be going on with China. You state a very plausible course of events red don could set in motion there.
