Trump To Go to LSU/Alabama to not be booed
Posted on Mon, Nov 4th, 2019 by Jason Easley
Trump is still trying to find a sporting event that wont boo him, so he is going to the Alabama/LSU football game.

As Trump is being impeached, he has become a presidential nomad who is roaming the country looking for a high profile national sporting event where the crowd will not boo him.
Alabama is the top state in Trump approval. Even though his approval rating has fallen by 14 points in the state, he still has a net (+22) approval rating (59%-37%) in the state. If Trump gets booed at the Alabama/LSU game, it will truly be the end of the line for his presidency.
This appears to be part of Trumps impeachment PR effort. Since impeachment began, Trump has made more public appearances not in front of handpicked crowds than at any other point in his presidency. So far, the effort to show that America really loves him has been a disaster, but Trump should have no problem getting cheered in Alabama.
Trump is desperate for love, so he is going to the state that wont boo him. Probably. Maybe.

(34,062 posts)Simply put, he believes his rallies are true illustrations of how Americans feel about him becasuse no one on his staff dares to tell him otherwise.
When confronted with reality that counters his perception, he perceives it as a fluke becuase no one around him has allowed him to be exposed to anything outside of his faux news bubble. So he has to (or his handlers are desperate to) find a crowd in which he will not be greeted with boos so that they can calm down the master whose wrath they fear.

(82,849 posts)We'll see if Trump has finally found a venue where the preponderance of the response is cheering. Keep in mind, though, that cheers are more of a throat reaction. Boos go all the way down to the bottom of a person's diaphragm. Boos are just naturally louder.

(587 posts)First of all, current students will be only a small percentage of the crowd. The large majority will be alumni and their wives.
Second, in the deep south, most college students have the same or similar political views as their parents.
There might be some who want to boo trump, but it would take a lot of courage.

(31,261 posts)One would guess that crowd would be full of his type, but I also thought that about the UCF crowd.
My guess is if he hears recognizable boos in the BAMA-LSU crowd, that will deflate him mightily.
BAMA had no choice, if that asshole called and asked to attend the game, they had to accommodate him. I believe the district that Tuscaloosa is in is or was represented by a democrat, but for a big game like Saturday, people likely come in from all over.

The neo-confederates down there love their greedy, corrupt, self-serving, hate-mongering white supremacist. He's one of them...and he's from New York City!!!!

(16,858 posts)And as a fan of LSU football it's infuriating. The reaction online on the football forums has been much more negative towards Trump coming than I had anticipated. The guy doesn't give a shit about college football, and most people can see he's trying for a make up at any sporting event where he might not get booed. It's why he went to the MMA fight this weekend.
