(9,963 posts)I hope they do, even with the repubs owning the voting machines. Will this scare the sh*t out of Moscow Mitch?? I really really hope he decides to retire instead of taking a chance of losing.

Will this lead to a few more votes for removal?

(9,670 posts)I wonder how these results are affecting Republican Senators up for re-election next year.
Or they know that Putin's got their backs and no matter how badly they lose at the state level, the national elections are in the bag for them.

(2,785 posts)looks like Bevin has close the gap to about 15,000 votes with still 6% of precincts to report. Crossing my fingers Beshear holds on to this lead.

Kentucky does not need any more or Bevin or his ilk, although it appears we may not win the Attorney General office.
At 8:45pm, we're at 50% vs 48% with 93% counted in the gov's vote..........

I was afraid we might lose our margin, with red-zone western KY coming in later.

(63,221 posts)I don't even live in Kentucky, but I realize what happens in this state is important to the nation. It has huge implications. It also makes me believe that McGrath has a chance of beating McConnell and that is the most important race. We need this. We really need this win so much!

(382 posts)I think that when finally ousted, the orange monster will declare that all along he has been a dem in disguise and that he ran a ridiculous administration and campaign(s) in order to point out the gullibility, hypocrisy, and corruptibility of modern republicans. He might say that his goal all along was to expose them for what they are. Like a cornered possum, the claws and spittle will fly.
I say this half in jest. One can only hope. His ridiculousness might help the march of progress in the end. I dont believe it would have been intentional, but Ill take it nonetheless.

(33,041 posts)One in particular jumped out at me -- old white guy says he was "a Trump man" and voted for Bevin, then, he's still a trump man, but can't vote for Bevin. Middle-age man says he voted for Bevin the first time, doesn't usually vote for Democrats, but he had to vote Beshear this time.

Hermit-The-Prog
(33,041 posts)Bevin has not conceded and will likely call for a recount. That provides opportunity for enhancing whatever cheats they had in place. It is almost certain that there was GOP cheating going on just because, a. they always do, and b. puppetTrump was here.
Moscow Mitch should be cowering in his shell.

(33,041 posts)Repugnants won every down-ticket race. Kentucky has not yet hit bottom. Hopefully, the recount will confirm Beshear as governor.
We can't demonstrate there is a difference if Kentucky won't elect a Democrat. The propaganda machine is going full force, here, and people just won't pay attention to history and facts. Teachers who know Bevin tried to take away their retirement and health insurance still voted for the bastard.

(54,058 posts)Beshear really won by 3%, and Republican voter fraud took it down to half a percent.
This is why we HAVE to get every Democrat to the polls who can walk, roll, crawl or use heir magic carpet to get there.
It has to be almost a landslide to nullify the cheating GOP..

(1,841 posts)Beshear insisted that Bevin's refusal to concede would not affect his ability to govern. "We are moving on with our transition today, he said.
He also noted that the next governor would need to be sworn in by early December, and expressed hope that Bevin would come around.
I believe that Governor Bevin will help in that transition, Beshear said. I believe that he is going to do the right thing and make sure we are ready to go on Day One.

(21,146 posts)Bevin is refusing to concede because he claims voting irregularities. I csn understand requesting a recount in such s close race but the irregularities claim could tie this up with endless investigations. We better make sure the 2020.POTUS race is s landslide for us.
