(58,785 posts)We HAVE to be concerned that a divided nation wanting to get rid of Trump but unsure about the Democratic candidate could do that again in 2020 -- presidency to Dems, both houses of congress to Repubs.
Exactly as the nation did when electing our first black (Democratic) president. By a large, enthusiastic margin, but some hedging that great advance with a knuckledragging red congress.
I'm happy too at this demonstration that the midterms' blue wave continues, but winning the presidency alone would be a pyrrhic victory.

(3,363 posts)Like dude, have you paid attention to your party wholly embracing White Supremacy and comparing impeachment to lynching?

(26,985 posts)My grandfather thought he was a good man. My Dad hated repukes and all his life referred to thrm as dirty stinkin lousy repukes. Dads been gone 22 years now and Im glad he is not alive to see what the evolution of repukes have become, cheaters and Russian assets.

(10,237 posts)..after the 1968 election why George Wallace got some votes up in Harlem.
His explanation was to tell the reporter that we had our nuts and they have their nuts. As good an explanation as any..

(50,999 posts)there are economic and social conservatives in every demographic. Then you will encounter the crab-barreling types who are generally upper middle class and/or older and they support racial profiling against younger poorer minorities since they may have gone through it back in the day and want others to suffer.

(3,363 posts)I mean, Mississippi literally used Jim Crow laws last night to elect their Republican Governor.
I as a Jew would never ever endorse a candidate or party that was full of White supremacists and Neo Nazis. I don't care what their other policies are.

(3,443 posts)more than I do trump. Two words: Merrick Garland. It is criminal that he was allowed to get away with holding open a SCOTUS seat. Unfuckingbelievable. It STILL fills me with rage. The world will be a better place without him in office, and even better when hes dead.

(17,459 posts)We are going to suffer for that travesty for many years. I was VERY angry that there was very little push-back from THE PRESIDENT and all Congressional Democrats to make a bigger fuss about how wrong that was.
