A Democrat just defeated one of the most unpopular Republicans in the country in a statewide election in Kentucky. Congratulations to our next governor, Andy Beshear, and our next lieutenant governor, Jacqueline Coleman!

Here’s the part that should keep Mitch McConnell and his cronies up at night: Andy Beshear flipped counties that Donald Trump won by double digits in 2016. He won in coal country. He won in places Democrats aren’t “supposed” to win.

3. in addition to flipping those counties, Andy's margins

in the urban counties were phenomenal. He kicked serious butt in Jefferson and Fayette which Hillary won but not by the margins we are seeing tonight. I hope Amy has the ground game and GOTV that Beshear had. If she does, she can kill the turtle
