When asked about the two "associates" of Giuliani, Trump said he did not know them....they must work for Rudy, he said.

Rudy was working for Trump. Otherwise, he would have had no authority to tell anyone anything. The ambassadors and the Ukrainians listened to Rudy because they knew he was working for Donald Trump.
