They have enough money, now they want you to have less. They just want more distance between us. What else could it be?

You think the primary motivation for their greed is to achieve "greater distance" between themselves and everyone else? I'm not exactly sure what you mean... Could you explain further?

You become much more important when the distance is greater between you and others. Throw back to Ayan Rand books.

Most of my friends are also poor. Even among the poor, there is the issue
of "Well, I'm not as bad off as he is".

competition with each other. They want to see whose business can take over the world and they want to accumulate the most money/property. The little people, I think, don’t figure into their equations very much.

J.K. Rowling and George Soros are Billionaires. Who are they trying to outrank?

Being rich doesn't mean you're evil. Being poor doesn't mean you're good.

Before getting defensive, you might want to actually read the
article, or even the hearline, the post links to. No one is saying "being rich means you're evil".
The author himself is quite rich and a member of a group called 'Patriotic Millionaires". They advocate for heavier taxation on wealth.

I’m not criticizing the article, I’m criticizing some of the utterly predictable responses in the thread.

and shallow, perhaps, but not "evil"
