(19,201 posts)Although I can't really see the logo on the right of the billboard I'm almost certain it was paid for by MadDog PAC. maddogpac.com
They have amazing merchandise for sale, and all proceeds go to erecting beautiful - and truthful - billboards like this across the country. I particularly like the GOP stickers where the 'O' is a hammer and sickle. I stick them up wherever I go.
On edit: Didn't see that you included the link to MadDog PAC at the bottom. Time to make another donation.

(19,201 posts)He only kills people who deserve it. I sit around sometimes and wonder how Serge would treat Trump, his family, and his sycophants. It gives me a warm glow all over when I think of the possibilities.
I've been a Tim Dorsey fan for years. Before that it was Carl Hiaasen, Elmore Leonard etc. I used to live in Florida, so I'm acquainted with many of the places Dorsey uses as backdrops in his books. Florida would be the only state in the nation where Serge could polish his craft without raising too much interest. In Florida, Serge is normal!
ancianita
(36,055 posts)I've read Dorsey and Hiaasen, too. They write funny, fast-paced dialog. I'll bet Dorsey's wondered what Serge would do with Trump, too. If MF45 were not alive, I'd bet Dorsey would fictionalize some rich old fat-butt politician who he'd torture into revealing the whole Russian rouble laundering network MF45's been part of, plus all the tapes. What a book that would be, right? He wouldn't have to worry about lawsuits since no one in 45's circles reads.
Not to argue with your view of Florida, but I've lived here long enough to say that it's not because of Floridians' views of "normal" that Serge can get away with his class warrior vigilantism.
Instead, I gotta say, Florida's full of nutty people who haven't a clue about the Serges of the world; they busily, happily live as undereducated, underinformed voters, crazy racist, pro-Confederate white supremacists. Serge is way too smart for them.
Back in the day I worked as a long distance operator for Ma Bell out of Tallahassee, knew every one-horse town; I also worked high end restaurants and bars through college, met Tallahassee legislators, and I gotta tell you, my exposure to Floridians during those years is why I moved north to go to grad school in Chicago. Florida and the South have a kind of "heart of darkness" side that the rest of the country doesn't have.
In spite of loving Chi for 45 years, I find myself back on the West Coast near Sarasota. For the warm winters. A week ago, Dorsey's latest Serge tour was better than anything on Sarasota's website!
TMI, I know, but thanks for reading, Serge! I look forward to reading your posts around here.

It was the first one that I had seen (sent to me by my sister who still lives in FL).
It is unbelievable the level of stupidity in Gaetz.

(19,201 posts)Then when my mother got too old and sick she moved back to western New York. My brother and sister, who've always lived in western New York, just couldn't find the time to look after her, take her to Dr. appts. and such, so I felt compelled to move back as well. She died this past January, and as soon as the estate is finalized I just may move back to the sunny south. I would miss my grandchildren so much though, so who knows. They weren't around when the last move to Florida happened, and they've become such a large part of my life now.
I agree with you about Floridians. Most Floridians are decent, but dumb. The problem is criminals hate winter and like warm, sunny weather, and Florida is where the land ends. They seem to seep on down to Florida, just like the Everglades is the river of grass, I-95 and I-75 are the highways' version of the Everglades. They all seem to end up in Florida. Great state though, and I guess I'll have to see what happens about the moving back thing.
It's always nice to correspond with someone who appreciates the absurd as much as myself. It just can't get weird enough for me, so Florida was a great fit. I like the Gulf Coast too. You couldn't pay me to live on the east coast. Clearwater was wonderful. Close to Tampa for the Lightening, Bucs and Rays (I'm a sports fan), and beautiful Clearwater Beach. Up to Tarpon Springs for some deep sea fishing. The only drawback was Route 19, especially when the snowbirds were in season. Sarasota is a magnificent city, I visited often. The drive down Route 41, through Gibsonton was always a treat. Nice talking to you, ancianita. Have a safe and warm holiday season.

And goodness, MadDogPAC has expanded the offerings in their online shop. I highly recommend perusing the pages of hilarity and on-point items. I've been giving them money for months, but I'm totally gonna buy some of their swag.

(14,173 posts)I've said it before.
When Graham is up for re-election, why not run ads and all they consist of is older clips of Graham badmouthing Trump, in that snarky way Lindsay is best at. Only a small statement at the end, "Democratic party approved of this message" or something.
Because it will hit Graham with a no win situation. Some deplorables, who aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer, might even be fooled, or at least confused. So Graham may feel pressured into having to go on air to disavow his own words, have to come up with some kind of excuse....'I've evolved on Trump"
But then by having to publicly draw even more attention to his lapdog behaviour to an increasingly unpopular President, by his seemingly doubling down by refuting the ads, refuting his own statements, would highlight his massive hypocrisy.

(21,765 posts)I am all for a civil and frank debate on the issues, but when the other side lies and bullies, it is foolish not to call them out for it.
LiberalLovinLug
(14,173 posts)is that there is absolutely no way that Graham, or any of those we could do this to (Cruz comes to mind) can claim its Democratic invented fake news. Because its not even us "calling them out" its they themselves doing it. They can't even shut it down with a he said she said stalemate. They have to own it. That or admit their own hypocrisy. No win.
