Trump Ordered To Pay $2 Million In Charity Ethics Lawsuit

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-foundation-2-million-settlement_n_5dc461c9e4b0d8eb3c921801

A New York judge has ordered President Donald Trump to personally pay $2 million to settle the state attorney general’s civil lawsuit against his now-defunct charitable organization, The Donald J. Trump Foundation.

Her decision is not the outcome desired by the president, who declared in a tweet last year: “I won’t settle this case!”

The lawsuit, filed in June 2018 by then-state Attorney General Barbara Underwood, alleged that Trump and three of his children ― Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump ― repeatedly took advantage of the foundation’s tax-exempt status to fund their political and business interests.

Either you are ordered to pay something in a judgment, or you are ordered to pay something because you breached a settlement agreement, but you are not "ordered" to pay "to settle".

Settlement is when the parties agree to dismiss a case to resolve the claims.

Judgment is when the parties don't settle, and the court decides who pays who what.

Sometimes, you submit a settlement to a court, and the court approves the settlement in a consent order (an order to which the parties consent), but that's not being "ordered" to pay something that you didn't already agree to pay in the first place.

Honestly, the writer should be taken out and shot.

deeper to hide more of his crap. I wouldn't be surprised that he's gone back into prior cases he's lost, and trying to get them overruled/overturned/etc. more to his liking. I wouldn't put it past him.
