(115,587 posts)That's how he rolls. He's done it before - offering or promising a large donation that never materializes. Somehow Fat Nixon manages to be both evil and pathetic.

(52,116 posts)but you're correct, not a dime of donnie's money.
his m.o. is to get other people to make charitable donations and then to take credit for it.

(his continual non-payments for promises and using the foundation as a slush fund, is why this whole investigation started in the first place)

(118,228 posts)'Mr. Trump breached his fiduciary duty to the Foundation,' including by "allowing his campaign to orchestrate" a televised fundraiser ostensibly for the foundation in Des Moines, Iowa, in January 2016, and allowing the campaign to direct the distribution of the money raised from that event 'to further Mr. Trump's political campaign' ..."

Why did you sign something that wasn't true? You're a 'billionaire' who could afford 'the best' legal talent.
You sound like someone who was forced to plead guilty because they were poor and could not afford to fight false changes.

(11,612 posts)...in response to any scandal or corruption, regardless of how transparent the lies are and how readily available the truth is, 40% of the country is so desperate to believe his bullshit that they will just accept any counter-narrative. That's his unique skill, having the sheer balls and lack of of intellectual honesty to just lie to everyone's face as the truth is staring at them again and again.

(7,446 posts)Now Trump is putting Bondi in the White House. The Wall Street Journal this afternoon reported the president is hiring two new staff members to assist with public relations and legal strategies to stave off his possible impeachment. One of those two people is supposedly Bondi. https://www.miaminewtimes.com/news/reports-say-pam-bondi-former-florida-attorney-general-will-work-for-trump-white-house-11312711[link:http://|

(18,837 posts)...it was the shock of the way he put it, a very defensive stance and not something you expect from someone in that position of power. When Nixon said "simple cloth coat," it wasn't about the coat. It was about defensiveness with a little trace of "up yours," and Trump's entire ghost-written rant is all about that, just like everything else he tweets.

I dont think most of them will want to start shooting so I suspect that is where Putin and the Russian military comes in, somehow.
Time will tell. But if anyone thinks tax returns are being turned over, they arent...if anyone thinks election day will go off without a hitch, it wont...and I worry about those who do the right thing and blow the whistle or whatever, I dont want them to be "Epsteined"
The idea that we have accepted he killed himself for FUCK SAKE...

Is he the biggest liar in history? The biggest cheat? The biggest asshole? He's high on the list, certainly. But the truth is he's never been the biggest or the best at anything. He's not even the biggest loser. He's just an average, run-of-the-mill piece of shit who cheated his way into the Oval Office, an aberration that will be corrected one way or another.

(21,256 posts)The 2 million dollar fine that settled the case, the judge ordered that money to be given to charity. Trump didn't have a choice, he was required by law to donate that 2 million dollars.
