GOP racist? Pffft. Not a chance...

Could Texas be any more intentional?

Houston voters elect 19 Black women to judgeships.

GOP then introduces bill to replace judicial elections w/governor-appointed judges.

Kicker: Bill would end elections only in counties w/500,000+ people, targeting urban areas like Houston.

If I was going to Mexico, I would go around Texas, even if I had to go through the Grand Canyon.

Turn out was increased across TX but especially in Houston area. I'm sure seeing 19 Black women elected at the same time was a shock to the system of republicans in the State.

The authoring rep from Odessa (81st) wanted to take away Houston's judges?

Umm, he needs to go back to whatever used truck sales type lordship he comes from, and stop adding to the stupidity in the Texas legislature. Sheesh.

Looks to be a dead bill, as it didn't pass out of committee, and the legislature won't back be in session til 2021. I will camp my ass in front of the Capitol with signage if they try to pull this off next go around.
