Else why would his lawyer tell the impeachment inquiry that he was in many more meeting than what is already known and he has new valauble information.

(23,002 posts)We don't need bolto now. He may just have screwed the pooch bc he may get implicated too. No sympathy for him.
They all want to have their cake and eat it too.
Like someone said here a few days ago, you get called to Congress...you show up early, in your Sunday best, and shit tiffany cufflinks being helpful. That's me though. A proud American.

(2,212 posts)They need to take care not to get played, but from all appearances Bolton has something he wants to tell.

(14,961 posts)I am so confused, the stories about him wanting to testify started coming out Thursday as well.

(86,581 posts)get off his attention whore ass and get before the investigating committee. He doesn't deserve a hero's welcome so he needs to get over it and do the right thing.

(16,616 posts)witnesses, but just in this one case I wish they'd play ball with Bolton. You can tell he's bursting to say something. He's begging to be subpoenaed (for political cover) and damn I do wish they'd indulge him.

(23,002 posts)Why didn't HE blow the whistle? Bolto may have really screwed himself, and personally, I hope he did. Maybe next time CONGRESS calls, he'll show some respect and get stepping.
He'll have another chance. Meanwhile, next week the pot of water goes on to boil.

(1,474 posts)He's playing some kind of stupid game. His lawyer will fight any subpoena, and it appears to be some kind of delay tactic.

(6,355 posts)This isn't hard. The guy's a Republican since birth and so rabid that no one to the left of Joe McCarthy will even talk to him. And, he's got a bone to pick with Trump. What's that "enemy of my enemy" thing again ?
He's literally begging in public for a simple piece of paper that will let his dump it all on the table and continue to have a life in the world of republicans. Congress "made" me do it will be his brand image for the rest of his life. So what. F'ing give it to him...yeah, he's an ass and yeah he's a bad guy...but worse than Trump ??? Really ???
Just give it to him...costs us nothing.

(6,355 posts)It could go either way. And while I agree that I don't trust him either, he has - throughout his career - been pretty predictable. He has, for decades, shown us who he is so, to steal from Kamala Harris...I believe him. In that predictability, I don't think he's a Trumplican. Just my opinion but for him to suddenly welcome Russia's participation in our decision making simply for the sake of short term power...doesn't feel like his MO.
But, as is usually the case on the internet, WTF do I know. lol
I just think we're going to have to find a way to let some of these republicans turn on Trump AND save face with whatever is left of the republican party. If we don't do that, we're confirming their fear that turning on Trump is suicide. Sure - some may take up the challenge but maybe we could lower the barrier a little.

(39,343 posts)The Dems have said they're not subpoenaing anyone else all in the name of expediency, then Bolton "promises" a wealth of info. Call me skeptical.

(19,357 posts)isn't there a way to expedite court proceedings? His lawyer could request an early hearing and make Bolton available immediately.
It seems as though, on this weighty of a matter, if both parties are in agreement, both desiring an extremely speedy decision, the federal judge could put it at the head of the queue. A week????
Chin music
(23,002 posts)to take a break. I'm sure Mr Schiff or Mr Nadler will take a few moments w him.
Skip, these folks act like they are so much better than everybody else. I think he knows he may be in line for some charges himself, and minutes after he didn't show, it dawned on him. Now he's trying to play catch up. Not our problem bolto. You had your chance. Sit down and shut up until someone asks you again. Requests from Congress aren't suggestions or optional. This whole group of russian sympathizers is about to take their medicine. I hope they wind up where Cohen is, for a lot longer.
PS...There's room for other whistleblowers, fill out the form, and get in line. Times running out. America is about to retake the high ground from you sell-out nincompoops.
Man these guys have really gone off the deep end w their self importance.

(111,089 posts)Kupperman, Bolton, and McGahn could all testify?
Or, for the sake of simplicity, they may decide they have enough to go forward once the public hearings are completed?
It's possible some bombshell could happen before the public hearings are over?
More bombshells might be expected while the Senate trial goes on?
Speaker Pelosi has shown a lot of patience up to this point.

(7,809 posts)But, I don't trust Bolton. He's a filthy, murderous, warmongering rethug. He's playing his little games and I can't help but think that he is going to lie to cover IQ45's ass during questioning.
He's just that kinda guy.

The thing about Mad John is that he hates Trump, but he hates "leftists" even more. So he's trying to harm one without doing anything to help the other. It isnt working.
