Rob Reiner shaved his beard! I'm reasonably sure he had it for almost 4 decades

He's looking more like Mike Stivic again!

Obviously not important in the scheme of things, but it's kinda cool to see him like that again (although I wish trimmed his mustache into a Stivician Fu Manchu ).

He just said he shaved for an acting role...

keeping one neat is a PITA. I don't shave, but I keep my chin hairs cropped pretty close.

Beards always made me itch. I've had several over the years and I never got past that itchy stage.

The last time I shaved all my facial hair, my SO kept saying, "who the eff are you?"

shaving the "curse of mankind." I haven't shaved in years. Or cut my hair in decades. Being a hermit does not allow time for such things!

Eventually I shaved because too many people told me it resembled the hair from a more, um, 'southerly' region.

I have NEVER shaved it off. I am now 68. So that makes my mustache 50 yrs old.

I've gone through all the variations, but the Van Dyke seems to be my fave. Every few years I will grow a full beard.

Right now I am trying to have the Van Dyke with the chin hair long enough to braid. Not quite there yet. There are ALWAYS awkward stages. You just have to get through them.

One thing you MAY be able to ascertain about a man and his hair, is his willing to commit to something (I am NOT talking about a relationship..).

I have had hair down to my waist (at least 3 different times), and that takes patience. If you want nice, healthy hair, you have to use a good shampoo and conditioner. Daily.

Man Hair has really blossomed into a full range of options. Once an option becomes available, it will never go away.

So those of you who hate the man-bun, Get. Over. It.!!!

edit to add age of mustache
