what are the chances there morons corrupted the NICE server?

i dont know much about this stuff, besides what malcolm nance taught me, but depending on how it was done and by whom, hiding their stupid on the top server in all of IC would be considered a severe breach, and everything on it should be considered contaminated.

this is explicitly against the law, but also a national security crisis, all on it's own.
but who knows how many of these idiots poked around or fucked something up. to say nothing of outright espionage. but even absent that, somebody pull the damn fire alarm at 1600 penn ave, will ya?

Maybe, though, it's not corrupted at all. MineralMan Nov 2019 #1
yes, if rules were followed, likely no real damage was done. mopinko Nov 2019 #3

Maybe we'll end up seeing all of that and it won't be Trump's 18 minutes of missing recordings. I sure hope so.

and i want to be confident that everyone who touches that system gets tracked like an escapee from the chain gang.

but the persistence of old spooks and toadies of crime sprees past have me (all of us) in constant- nothing could possibly surprise me- mode.

Can’t ask Demented Donnie much of anything these days, “Witchhunt this” and “Fake News” that. They really are doing so much more with polonium poisoning.

And if it was moved from another server, they'd have to have monkeyed with that server and those backups too. And the logs that are kept of who accesses a file or makes changes to anything on any of the various servers and backups, to remove any evidence that shows somebody looked at a record even though it doesn't exist now, and when it was removed, and who did that.

I think the professionals who do computer forensics are going to prove far smarter and more competent than anybody on the other team trying to tamper with the evidence
