we have a firm rule of know Christmas music until after Santa shows up in the Macy’s parade.

Also, no Christmas music recorded before 1971, we are officially done with Bing Crosby (one exception: his duet with David Bowie)

Especially Crosby.

Check out out:

Good King Wenceslas by The Roches
Silver Bells - Twisted Sister
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen - Annie Lennox
The Holly & the Ivy - Jon Anderson
Little Drummer Boy - Pentatonix

I have more suggestions if you are interested, but must run now.

For the past few years, I start listening to Christmas music at the end of summer. I do this to relieve stress. It's extremely comforting to me.

The thing that bugs me is that stores take down the Christmas merchandise before Christmas has even come. If you need something that you forgot, it's gone.

I used to feel that the seasonal displays were way too early for all of them, but I have mellowed a lot. I still need a longer than normal holiday season. Since I have pretty much anything in terms of music and films, I just make sure I don't get caught!

Though the Christmas channels are usually available year round on the app, usually SXM gradually introduced the channels on the satellite platform in the lead up to Thanksgiving. This year, they're all there, right now.

I don't mind Christmas music, but eight solid weeks? No. Just, no. There have been about four hours of Christmas music written, and filling 24 hours of air time means you hear every song six times a day. Yeah, different artists, but fer crissakes, you can only hear the Little Drummer Boy or Frosty the Snowman so many times before you snap.
