So I think it was a good way to say it, and agree the sentiment is sound.

In all reality, it doesn't really matter if it's 46-41 or 46-zip. A loss is a loss. And they felt "badly".

Yes, theoretically Alabama could still be in contention, but not really. To win the SEC they need LSU to loose two of their three remaining games while AL wins out. Highly unlikely; LSU losses to Ole Miss or Arkansas?!! To justify selection otherwise seems highly unlikely. AL has not beaten a ranked team. Their schedule is weak.

Theoretically anything can happen, but ...

ETA Arkansas just fired their coach; haven't won an SEC game in two years!
