Imagine the Republican outrage if Obama did anything like that.

Actually, that’s not quite right. If Obama had done something like that it would mean he’s corrupt and the Republicans could do business with him. Their animus toward Obama was that he was honest and took governance seriously.

Judge fines Trump $2 million for misusing charity foundation

New York state Judge Saliann Scarpulla imposed the penalty after the president admitted to a series of abuses outlined in a lawsuit brought against him last year by the New York attorney general’s office.

Among other things, Trump acknowledged in a legal filing that he allowed his presidential campaign staff to coordinate with the Trump Foundation in holding a fundraiser for veterans during the run-up to the 2016 Iowa caucuses. The event was designed “to further Mr. Trump’s political campaign,” Scarpulla said.

Good journalist should ask every Republican in Congress this question on Veterans Day:
“If a US President admitted to stealing $2million in pledges made to Veterans’ charities, would you support or oppose impeachment for that crime?”

As usual, there's no excuse for the way Trump has treated veterans. None.
