(9,213 posts)it's really even less interesting than I was expecting and I'm a huge space nerd, lol.
it is amazing though to see the scale of Mercury compared to the sun though. Makes me want to get up in the coming mornings/evenings to see Mercury to put it in context.

definitely not as impressive as a Venus transit.
The 2012 Venus transit was once in a lifetime for me unless they can keep me alive for 153 years...LOL.
After viewing the 2012 Venus transit, I definitely look at the planet differently now. I pay more attention to it as the morning or evening star.
The next Venus transit is December 2117.

It could be similar to the full eclipse from 2 or 3 years ago that cut a swath across the US, from Oregon thru SC.
Interpretation is open to the experts.
