What's really rare is a clear view of anything in the heavens from this town, so I'll take a glance streamed to the 'puter. Not exactly the "bouncing ball," to sing along, is it?

it's really even less interesting than I was expecting and I'm a huge space nerd, lol.

it is amazing though to see the scale of Mercury compared to the sun though. Makes me want to get up in the coming mornings/evenings to see Mercury to put it in context.

definitely not as impressive as a Venus transit.

The 2012 Venus transit was once in a lifetime for me unless they can keep me alive for 153 years...LOL.

After viewing the 2012 Venus transit, I definitely look at the planet differently now. I pay more attention to it as the morning or evening “star”.

The next Venus transit is December 2117.

Since Mercury is the planet of communication.

It could be similar to the full eclipse from 2 or 3 years ago that cut a swath across the US, from Oregon thru SC.

Interpretation is open to the experts.
