I think this tweet sums it up quite well.

@itsJeffTiedrich
so the five-time draft dodger who shirked his duty to his country by finding some quack doctor to gin up a bullshit note about imaginary bone spurs and stole money raised for veterans is heading up a Veterans Day parade because we live in the stupidest fucking country imaginable

Q: What sacrifices have you made... (paraphrasing the exact question here. But I remember the answer exactly.)
dt: I made a lot of sacrifices. I built great structures...” (voice trails off, interviewer does NOT follow up on that with any sort of “what does building ‘great structures’ have to do with making a lot of sacrifices? What sacrifices did you make? What were the sacrifices?”)

That response DEFINITELY needed more clarification! What on earth did he mean about “I made a lot of sacrifices. I built great structures”? How does that follow - making a lot of sacrifices and building great structures? How does the first part of that response fit with the second part? What does making “a lot of sacrifices” have to do with building “great structures”? He should have been asked to explain that one. What a colossal misstep!

And WHY THE HELL did that interviewer NOT follow up??? For Pete’s sake!!!!!

That has bothered me for at least three years now.

I suspect the interviewer - MAYBE Chris Matthews but I’m not 100% sure who it was - had a list of “MUST” questions that he had to (or thought he had to) get in there in whatever time had been allowed. I think, certainly by now, most of America understands that trump will voraciously suck up as much time facing any microphone as he can get. So it wouldn’t matter if the interview was supposed to be 30-minutes long but he had more to say to embroider his earlier comments/bullshitting/talking points/repetition of buzz phrases and strategic messaging.

But there IS a legitimate reason to follow up on stuff. Reporters do it all the time and sometimes it IS a little deliberate time-hogging, but more often it’s because the initial answer to the question just is not sufficient. Certainly true here. And sometimes it can (and does) happen that you ask a follow-up, and then the response provokes event more questions and necessary FURTHER follow-ups.

This particular regime is a textbook example. That Mulvaney newser with so many “WTF???” statements that he was forced to do a big back-dance and issue revisions of all kinds. There’ve been MANY. Mulvaney is just one of the more recent examples.

Had forgotten, and try to forget much of the obnoxious gases spewing from his cows ass lips. As a veteran, he and his worshippers disgrace the service I and ALL gave, and give. When I visit the VA hospital and see Vets for tRump and Christian Vets for tRump stickers on so many vehicle, I am deeply ashamed. Nobody that ever served would have, to defend this shit show. They now believe tRump and his criminal cowards and draft dodgers are sent by God. And to think I could have died for THIS representation of the Flag. Fox and R/W lie radio will/are destroying this country. And those wealthy blow hards do not give a shit about their cult following. They shit in the face of every person that ever served. And wipe their asses with $100 bills, cause they can.

Lilly livered Trump has always been chicken shit anti military:

"Trump's divorce agreement with Maples stipulated that he would make $100,000 child support payments for his and Maples' young daughter, Tiffany, until she turned 21. It also said the payments would stop if she got a full-time job, enlisted in the military, or joined the Peace Corps."

Veterans Day for Trump

2017 Trip to VN

2018 In town but couldn't be bothered to go to Arlington

Said he went there last year but just another lie

2019 Went to a parade

Donald Jr. recently remarked how Arlington reminds him how much his family has sacrificed.

Does he still have time to go to Arlington in the rest of today?
